About

Brandie ClarkAs a little girl, I can remember poring over my mother's spiral-bound Betty Crocker cookbook. At the time, I was most interested in the three-layer pink confections and anything that might be considered a dessert.

I took every Home Ec class I could during middle school and high school, but I never really aspired to do anything in the field of professional cooking.

What I did enjoy was giving food gifts to people.  There is something very satisfying about nourishing one's palate as well as their soul.  I get a thrill watching someone bite into something I've made.  If everything goes as planned, they close their eyes and savor the morsel.

If you are one of the people that received some goody from me for Christmas and called to tell me I should sell it, then The Pleasantly Plump Gourmet is all your doing. You know who you are.

Why the name Pleasantly Plump Gourmet? Well, it's because I'm a little soft around the edges.  I enjoy eating food as much as I like cooking it.
